Steamed Muffins (Puto Bread)

My grandma used to cook the best Filipino foods. Although I know she's with me in spirit, I miss her.... and all her cooking. Sad thing is that I don't remember some of the names of the foods. I just remember how they looked and how good they tasted. I tried a recipe that I found on Allrecipes.com, called Chinky's Puto Bread, by Chinky Viola. Super easy and yummy!

2 3/4 cups cake flour
1 1/4 cups white sugar
2 tablespoons baking powder
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 cup water
2 eggs
1 cup margarine, softened

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Mix cake flour, sugar and baking powder together. Pour in the water and evaporated milk and stir well. Mix in the eggs and butter.

Pour the mixture into molds or muffin pans. (I used small bite size muffin pans). Find a baking pan that your muffin pan will comfortably fit in. Place the baking pan on the oven rack. Carefully pour hot tap water into the baking pan holding the muffin pan.

Bake for about 15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the muffin comes out clean. CAUTION: Be extremely careful not to burn your hands with the hot water or steam when you remove the pan out of the oven.

(Optional: top with grated cheese).

American Art Stamps

Hey all, it's the weekend! The fog has rolled in and the weather has cooled down. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE warm weather, it's just that we've had unusually warm weather lately.

Here are a couple of cards I made with Flower Gift, a stamp by Karen Stolper, American Art Stamps. Sorry for the bad picture. My camera does not, and can not, capture her awesome stamp design. I wish I could have her entire collection!

Cat's Pajamas

Here are the cards we made at Stamp On Over. I love Cat's Pajamas stamps! Their quality and prices are great. Don't you just love the kitty on the Hot Stuff and Cheers cards? Too cute! They're all cute! Well, off to take the kids to their swim class. Cheers!

Stationery Set

I made a stationery set, consisting of 6 cards, for my friend Elizabeth, who's turning 50. And I must add, looks fabulous at 50! We both love angels so I decided to use the Angelic (retired) stamp set by SU! for these cards. This stamp set is one of my all time favorites! For the card in the middle, I used white cardstock, VersaMark and chalk. There are so many looks you can achieve with VersaMark and chalk! As for the stationery folder (not pictured) I followed a tutorial I found on Charmaine's blog.

Amuse ATC Swap

Finally, the weekend's here! I'm taking part in an Amuse ATC Swap hosted by Taylor. I wish I had signed up for more than one group, but I snoozed. I made it in the last group. Here are the ATCs I made. I used chocolate chip cardstock by SU! and embossed paisleyrockz stamp set by TAC for the background. The scalloped line, a true friend and scallop oval frame were all Amuse stamps. Tomorrow, my sisters and I are going to Stamp On Over for a class. I was told that we'll be using a lot of Cat's Pajamas stamps. I'll post the cards when I'm not working, doing the laundry, folding the clothes, cooking, taking the kids to swimming, basketball, kung fu, violin lessons....yadda yadda yadda! ha-ha! Here's a card I'm sending out this week. I just adore the bunny (TAC) & the crown (justjohanna) and the bunny sits perfectly in the frame (Impress Stamps)!

Moon Glow

Here are a few cards I made. I used stamps from Michaels, Amuse, Bella Stamps, Impress Stamps,TAC and stamps by Rhonna Farrer. I also used Basic Gray paper, embossing powders and a product called Moon Glow, iridescent powders. My sister purchased Moon Glow from Impress Stamps in Seattle, WA and I recently used the product on one of these cards. Love it! Time to stamp

Hi all! I wanted to share a few cards I made with my new stamping buddies! We visited my husband's bro and family over spring break. Tina, my sister-in-law, gathered a few friends and we made a bunch of cards. Each of us shared at least one card with the group. I think there's a special sisterhood that rubberstamping and papercrafting girlfriends share. If you're a sista stamper, you know exactly what I mean! **wink!** Thanks Tina, Arlene, Raquel and Melinda for getting together to stamp and make these cards. I absolutely love 'em!
