ATC

I joined an ATC (artistic trading cards) swap through Paper Crafts Magazine. The swap is titled, Weightloss Advice ATC. I thought it would be a fun and creative way to have a small collection of weightloss advice. I wanted to incorporate one of my favorite quotes on the cards, "Everything you want is just outside your comfort zone," by Robert Allen.

Whenever I set goals for myself, I know I have to do things out of the ordinary. That means I have to step out of my comfort zone and work it! It means, if I want to fit better into my jeans, I know eating a bag of my favorite potato chips won't get me there! The stamp set is "A Girl Thing" from TAC. I stamped the image on patterned paper and again on white cardstock. Then I cut out the image from the patterned paper and glued it on the white cardstock. To add dimension, I threaded ribbon through holes that I punched on each side of the image. That's it for now. Be twinspired!

Paper & Ribbons

Here are a couple of cards I'm sending out this week. These cards were made with Wild Asparagus and Urban Lily papers. I love the designs and quality of these papers. The butterfly stamp is from a retired TAC stamp set, Happiness. The happy happy birthday sentiment is from TAC's stamp set, Sweet Sayings. I love adding ribbons to my cards. Costco was selling a box of ribbons, Berwick All Occasion Ribbon Boutique. A total of 480 ft of ribbon and 40 different designs!
Here's a special sentiment on Gratitude:
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.
~Melody Beattie
I hope you have a wonderful week!

70th Birthday

My mom recently celebrated her 70th birthday. My sister and I chose the Chinese New Year theme because San Francisco was in the midst of Chinese New Year celebrations. This event is celebrated big in San Francisco and that's how we wanted to celebrate our mom's 70th birthday, in a BIG way! Here is a picture of her birthday invitations. We made over 100 invites and over 200 attended. Needless to say, it was a lot of work but very heartwarming to have so many of our family and friends come celebrate with us! We purchased fans and handmade cards & envelopes from the Oriental Trading Company. You know, once you order from the Oriental Trading Company, they send you all their catalogs. Their scrapbook catalog is packed with really good deals. I stamped the floral branch, "Oh Spring!" by Penny Black, on transparency paper, and stamped "You're Invited" by Stampin' Up, on white cardstock. We gave fans and custom made fortune cookies to all our guests. The fans contain Chinese characters representing wealth, long life and happiness. Enjoy your weekend!
